What data is expected?

Data, measured at the water source, on the quality of water is essential for both the delivery of services and the prevention of diseases. In order to satisfy the minimum requirements for this category, data should be available on level of the following chemicals by water source and be updated at least weekly:

  • fecal coliform
  • arsenic
  • fluoride levels
  • nitrates
  • TDS (Total dissolved solids)

Details

The Federal Ministry of Water Resources should have been the agency responsible for publishing water quality in the control, but it has not yet been available. While not sure if this is done by paper works, it is still far fetched as no reports has been published on water quality in Nigeria.

An alternative government portal that should have addressed water quality indicators in the country could have been the Nigeria Millennium Development Goals Information System but water quality described in their data only states physical structures of water source and not chemical components.

Reviewer comments

There is no water quality reports online seems they are not pushing the information online, if it there.
